Associate Membership
By joining the North Wales Advanced Motorcyclits as an Associate Member, free guidance will be given by one of our carefully selected Observers, on improving your riding skills, control and anticipation.
Depending upon your current riding skills and providing that you are willing to practice between Observed Runs, we anticipate that a total of 6-8 runs should be sufficient for you to become 'test ready'.
The Advanced Motorcycling Test can be taken in an area near to where you live and will be arranged for a time that is convenient to both you and your Examiner.
How much will it cost me?
The current cost for the ‘Skills for Life’ Programme is £85.00; this covers the Associate membership of NWAM, a copy of the 'Highway Code', your personal copy the IAM publication 'Pass Your Advanced Motorcycling Test', the cost of the Advanced Motorcycle Test itself, and the first year's membership of the Institute of Advanced Motorists. We also request that a donation of £5.00 per run is given directly to your Observer to cover a portion of their fuel costs.
Full Membership
If you have already passed the Advanced Motorcycling Test and you would like to support NWAM, then why not join as a Full Member and take part in the many events, rides and social events we organise. View our Events page to see just some of the things we have got planned. The current cost for Full membership of NWAM is £10.00 per year.
Group Friend
Under some circumstances you may be eligible to join NWAM as a Group Friend (£5.00 per year). This category of membership is only available at the specific invitation of the committee. It is reserved for those persons who wish to support the group and take part in its various activities but have not passed, or not to wish to follow the 'Skills for Life' programme towards, the IAM Advanced Test.
